Andy was on this week-end, but I went up to help close the lake house, just for the day: listening to Teaching Company lectures on ancient societies, I drove three hours up, 140 miles, via rt. 17 in Bergen County and Rt. 84 and the Taconic. Then, David Ellen, and I spent three hours cleaning, moving docks, putting boats and chairs in the boat house.  I took a final dip in the lake, and then we sat around on the porch with borrowed chairs, and then I drove home, the long way, close to four hours back, 170 miles, via NY State Thruway. Worn out, but with a good sense of having done the right thing.  I liked working with David and Ellen, too.
