October is Back to Busy-ness Month

Classes have finally begun at NYU: I've got huge classes, both Novel One (formerly Beginning Your Novel) and Fiction One. Warm, gray, and rainy today, and tonight is the South Orange/Maplewood Community on Race's big Celebration--major fund raiser of the year.

Otherwise, we're busy with a couple of small house-fixing projects; Andy is going away for his national conference, I'm drafting a long story that's a spin-off of a 1901 novel, and just discovered via Internet a new writer I never heard of.

Oh, and the government is partially shut down while the Tea Party zealots in the House of Representatives hold the rest of us hostage.
