For Christmas we had Howard and Alice as well as Joel and my mom, followed by Saturday's trip to Brooklyn and the wonderful Brooklyn Botanic Garden where I loved everything but especially the Japanese garden and the bonsai room:
Afterwards, we walked around Park Slope then visited Harvey and Adrianne at their house and went out to eat at a very pleasant restaurant called Soigne. Joel leaves today--have loved his hurrying around, visiting friends, starting big conversations, watching various Die Hards, and generally filling a lot of space. Sarah is with her family; the next time we see them they may be parents.
